Somewhere out there..

Today was the day when experience caught up with youth. Hector took off at the start but a resurgent Paul caught up with him before Checkpoint 1 and they’ve been together all day and evening. Paul was able to find a small patch of mobile phone coverage and he sent a note to say that they were “baked” and having to fight to keep going.
It is now night time, and they are still on the course, somewhere out there.

The good news is that we have the handy tracker, which, if it's to be believed, shows they "only" have about 20 km to go..

Here are some photographs from the day:

And our athletes at one of the checkpoints:

Rick, you were asking who the Kenyan is who was running with Hector yesterday. His name is Isaac Kosgei. It seems like he's a pretty good marathon runner. Also, I looked up the British people he was with yesterday and one is a former Olympic middle distance runner. There are some very interesting people doing this race.
Carol. Richard is in the tent next door. Great guy. Thank you Carol for the messages and support
Just brilliant! We have a friend Richard Longden also running - told him to keep an eye out for the Scots!
Absolutely staggering effort so far by these two. It looks like they have both made it through that particularly gruelling stage and I hope they are getting some hard-earned rest!
All the very best to both of them.

From what I can see ...they both made it! An amazing effort!
Incredible photos and amazing to think of them out there. Send them all our love when you next speak to them - and keep posting updates please. Bronwen x
