Stage 1

Paul and Hector have finished stage 1, which was 32.2km long.

Paul reports that it was a combination of rocky ground, which was quite fast going, and deep sand. The final part was really slow for everyone.

Hector finished the stage in 4:24:53, putting him in the top third of runners. Paul didn't see a great deal of Hector today as he chose to start quite steadily, getting stronger as the day wore on (in contrast to just about all other runners). He finished in 5:13:26.
